Rostering
Plan shifts on the roster and keep rostering rules in order.
Step-by-step guides
- Rostering overview How the Rostering screen works: the calendar, the Client and Staff views, shifts, assigning staff and publishing, and how it differs from SIL/Smart Rostering.
- Create a shift Add a shift for a client on the Rostering screen, with the day, times and notes, so it is ready to be assigned to a staff member.
- Edit a shift Change the date, times, notes or invoice line items of a shift on the Rostering screen, and save the change.
- Assign staff to a shift Choose who works a shift on the Rostering screen, read the availability notes and any warning, and save, so the shift is filled and the person is told.
- Publish a roster Notify the staff who have shifts on the Rostering screen, by email and in the app, for the dates you choose.
- Delete a shift or replace the worker Replace the person on a shift, take them off it, or delete the shift altogether on the Rostering screen.
- Create and manage roster periods Find a site's roster period, read its heading, move between periods, and create a period by hand when your organisation does not create them automatically.
- Fortnightly and monthly roster cycles What the Fortnightly and Monthly roster cycles are, how the first period start sets every period and the week start, and what can lock the cycle.
- Choose a Sunday or Monday week start Choose a Sunday or Monday week start by setting the first roster period start date, check what it affects, and match the SIL/Smart Rostering calendar to it.
- Use the Client and Staff roster views Switch the Rostering screen between the Client and Staff views, find a client or person, read shifts and hours, and show SIL shifts on the same calendar.
- SIL roster basics How to roster a SIL house by hand: site-based shifts, several workers per shift, sleepovers and roster periods, and where Smart Rostering fits.
